Clean Cities Internship Now Available!

The Centralina Clean Fuels Coalition (CCFC), in collaboration with the Clean Cities University Workforce Development Program (CCUWDP), seeks an intern for Summer 2020. This is a wonderful opportunity for students studying to gain experience in the energy and transportation areas. The CCFC has been in existence in the Greater Charlotte Region for over 15 years and was designated in April of 2004 in the Department of Energy's Clean Cities program. The Coalition is housed at the Centralina Council of Governments, a state designated lead regional organization in North Carolina comprised of Anson, Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly, and Union counties.

The mission of the National Clean Cities Program (locally represented by the CCFC) is to reduce petroleum dependence, improve air quality, and expand alternative fuel use and technology. The student that interns with the CCFC will mainly be involved in marketing and public outreach activities including writing and editing articles and creating videos, press releases and scripts. Student interns will have the opportunity to grow public awareness and expand the markets of advanced vehicle technologies, alternative fuels, and practices that reduce the consumption of petroleum. The student can also expect to give presentations to small groups, interview coalition members and outside organizations for key deliverables, and conduct some secondary-source research and report-writing.

*Due to COVID-19 quarantine rules, this internship may focus more on writing, social media, and research-related tasks. The recipient may be asked to supply their own laptop or computer to work from home with during this evolving situation.
