Core Stakeholders Meeting


Thank you to all who attended the Centralina Clean Fuels Coalition Core Stakeholders Group meeting at Centralina COG’s offices on Wednesday, November 15th. Whether you were able to make it or not this time, here’s a recap of what was presented, topics referenced, and links to handouts. Thanks to our Sustaining Stakeholders PSNC and UPS for sponsoring our meeting/networking refreshments.

    • VW Settlement Update

      • NC DEQ has been named as the lead agency for the VW trust. The period for public opinion has now opened and the public is invited to share their thoughts on how the funds should be spent will be until December 31st. The link for comments can be found here:    

      • The group generally agreed that a steady diet of updates and forecasting of how best to prepare for these funds is important information that should be provided by the CCFC

    • Jessica Hill, of CCOG, provided an update on the Greater Charlotte Freight Mobility Plan and reviewed what has already happened and what the next steps are, including a short freight film designed for advertising, that can be found here:

    • Rick Sapienza of the NC Clean Energy Technology Center presented on CFAT Funding and the Sustainable Fleet & Tech Expo 2017

      • Overview of eligibility requirements for CFAT

      • Congratulations to Chris Facente, CCFC chair and UNC-Charlotte Automotive Supervisor, and stakeholder Daniel Nuckolls, from the City of Concord, for being named NC Smart Fleet champions at the 2017 Sustainable Fleet Technology Conference and Expo!
